'ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!'
About
A fresh take on the typical Australian story. Zoy Frangos is the son of a Greek migrant father and Indigenous-Australian mother, and is in many ways a ‘typical’ Australian. This show tells Zoy’s own personal and musical story.
From his childhood in Ballarat, Zoy has since found his place on the stage. He performed in Pecan Summer, the world’s first Indigenous opera composed by Deborah Cheetham, understudied Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, played Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar and was seen most recently with Tina Arena in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical EVITA.
Combining music theatre, Greek rebetika, rockabilly, country and gospel and backed by a powerhouse band and accompanied by his wife Elisa Colla, Zoy spins a yarn and sings songs with honesty and humour. Be blown away by his variations on classic songs like ‘Bring Him Home’, ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and the theme from The Godfather.
Variations has been performed at Bunjil Place, Claire's Kitchen, GPAC, The Round and Hamer Hall with further dates to be announced.
